We have extensive expertise in the design of SMPSU ranging from 1W to many kW utilising all common topologies, such as Flyback, Forward, Half Bridge, and Full Bridge. We have a library of reference designs for the lower power ranges, particularly concentrating on the low component count, cost effective alternatives to older linear psu designs.
Custom magnetics design along with prototype facilities complement the wide range of standard components we have available, with all transformers designed to use UL recognised parts.
Our practical experience and knowledge of Safety standards and EMC regulations assists customers to achieve compliance with the minimum of cost.
Power Factor Correction (PFC)
To comply with Harmonic Distortion regulations, we have solutions for cost effective active PFC, utilising Transition Mode, Average Current Control, and Constant Off Time (COT) topologies, up to kW’s.
Again, our custom magnetics design allows us to provide optimum components, without compromising cost.
All battery chemistries can be catered for, including Lead Acid, Ni Cad, Ni MH, and Li ION, either analogue, Micocontroller or bespoke controlled, depending on your requirements.
DC-DC Converters and Switching Regulators
Thermal management and miniaturisation are key areas where we have expertise, whilst Simulation and Design software packages ensure high performance and stability.
From simple Self Oscillating Bipolar designs, to the latest leading edge “Combo” chips incorporating PFC and Half Bridge control, coupled with latest technology MOSFETs produce extremely efficient, cool running and reliable cost effective solutions.
Our portfolio of reference designs is extensive. Off line solutions are split into non-isolated and isolated drivers, intended for either single LEDs or strings of multiple LEDs, and can incorporate multi-channel with Microcontrolled dimming capability.
Low voltage solutions include Buck, Boost, and Buck-Boost arrangements covering an extensive range or applications and markets.
